# StartIT 2026 „Commander” Update

## New Commands Tab

You can now easily manage every single bot command from one place. Turn commands on or off, edit their names and descriptions, and choose whether they run via slash commands, text prefixes, or both.

You also get full control over access, timing, and server economy:

- **Pick roles or channels** that can or cannot use each command.
- **Set custom cooldowns** or make commands available only during certain hours.
- **Hide bot replies** so only the user typing command sees them.
- **Connect with economy and leveling** by adding usage fees, giving cash or XP rewards, or requiring a minimum balance to use the command.

In short, this update brings you more control to make the bot work exactly how you want.

## Sticky Messages

We are happy to announce Sticky Messages on StartIT! They automatically keep key information as the last message in a selected channel by deleting the old message and reposting it as conversation flows. We give you flexibility to decide when your messages repost:

- **By time passing**: Set a cooldown anywhere from 5 seconds up to 24 hours to automatically re-send the message on a clock. You can even pick what the bot does after time runs out and nobody has written anything:
  - **Immediate repost**: The bot sends a new sticky the second someone types a new message.
  - **Pause and restart (default)**: The bot pauses the timer during quiet periods and only starts counting down once someone writes in the chat. This prevents the sticky from reposting right away after a long period of silence.
- **By chat activity**: Tell the bot to wait until members drop a specific number of messages before bumping the sticky back down. That way, it stays put until active chat actually starts pushing it off screen.

## System Notification Channel

If something goes terribly wrong, the bot needs a place to let you know. Pick an existing staff or admin channel in the dashboard where we can send critical alerts. You do not need to create a dedicated channel just for StartIT, we won't send anything unless we have good reason to (like missing permissions).

## Better Capsules

We noticed people still use regular Embeds instead of Capsules. Capsules give you way more room to breathe - you can ping users or roles anywhere in the text, and you do not run into the strict limits that Discord embeds have.

To make building them faster, we added field templates directly into the interface. Just type in your text, and the dashboard sets up all the components automatically. You do not have to click and add each piece by hand anymore.

By the way, as you can see we also added support for Capsules in Automations and Custom Commands via **Reply with a message** block.

### Select Forum channels in Capsules plugin

You can now select Discord forum channels directly when setting up a Capsule. When you choose a forum channel, the dashboard adds a "Name of the new post" field so the bot can automatically create the thread and post your formatted Capsule inside it.

## Improved bot commands

Slash commands are no longer treated like second-class passengers. We updated command descriptions and added missing arguments like **quantity** parameters for economy commands such as `/buy-item`, `/give-item`, `/craft recipe`, and `/market sell`.

Managing items is also much smoother now: commands like `/give-item` now feature auto-complete, matching valid item names as you type so you never have to guess exact name.

### Hide /backpack from other players

Users can always check their own backpack, but by default, anyone can look into another player's inventory. You can now turn off public backpack viewing in your settings if you prefer to keep players' items private.

### Set custom replies in /rob

You can now write your own bot responses for the `/rob` command. Set up custom replies for both outcomes:

- **Success Replies**: Add custom messages that trigger when a robbery works.
- **Fail Replies**: Write custom lines for when a user gets caught or fails.

### Make /roulette start faster

You can now adjust how long `/roulette` runs before drawing a result. Under the new **Game time** setting in the dashboard, set the duration in seconds to make rounds resolve much faster instead of waiting on the default 30 seconds.

## Image plugin update

We added about **4 0** meme generator commands:

- **/callout <meme-name>** — For memes that parody or call out people
- **/topic <meme-name>** — For memes that mock a specific subject or idea
- **/triggered** — Generates a violently shaking avatar with red motion blur
- **/iq** — Moved from the Tools plugin into Images. It now features a completely new graphic that displays a users IQ score on a colorful chart.

## Search bar

You can search now all Commands, Embeds, Capsules, Items, etc. using search bar or `CTRL + /` shortcut in StartIT Dashboard.

## New variables in Auto Channels

If you do not want to show member usernames in temporary voice channels, you now have more naming options to pick from:

- **Random digits**: Insert random 2-, 3-, 4-, or 6-digit codes into channel names.
- **Sequential numbers**: Auto-number channels in order as members create them. (Channel #1, Channel #2 etc.)

We also added new Discord permissions like ****Bypass Slowmode** and ****Set Voice Channel Status** — please check StartIT Dashboard to make sure the your members have the right access in their auto channels.

## Multiple winners in Giveaways

Giveaways with multiple winners now come with custom formatting options for the winner announcement message.

You can now display winners in ranked order, making it simple to hand out different prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place instead of treating every winner the same.

## Remind Button

We added a **Remind** button to responses for `/work`, `/rob`, `/hustle`, and `/crime`.

Instead of tracking cooldowns, people can click the button right after running a command. The bot automatically sets a timer and pings them in the channel as soon as their cooldown is up so they know it is time to earn again.

## Almost 500,000 Servers

StartIT is getting very close to hitting 500,000 servers. Seeing the bot grow into half a million communities is crazy to watch. Whether you added StartIT on day one to manage simple roles or you are running an entire economy with it today, we built this bot for you, and we will keep making it better with every update.

We also rolled out a few smaller tweaks from the paid tier: text commands like `/ascii` and `/clap` are now turned off for muted members, custom commands have a new "Start thread from message" block, and the anti-invite filter now catches `discord.gg` links that lead to private DM groups.

### New plugin: Forms

Forms are sets of predefined questions that let you gather specific information from users. They can include not only text responses, but also file uploads or selecting options from a list. ### Eight new Automations triggers

Automate actions based on member activity, voice sessions, and media sharing with these 8 new event triggers:

- When user joins a server
- When user creates a thread
  - it is also possible to distinguish whether a thread is public or private
- When user joins or leaves voice channel
- When user starts or stops camera on voice channel
- When user starts or stops stream on voice channel

### Economy /cashdrop command

Added **/cashdrop <amount>** which drops the specified amount of cash into the chat. The first user to click the claim button receives the full amount. Unlike /give, the money is not sent to a specific user.

Using this command frequently by server staff may encourage people to read chat more often.

### Economy /coinbet command

We just added /coinbet, and it's already turning out to be one of the most fun additions to the economy system.

Here is how it works: you call the outcome of two coin flips. If you guess both right, you win a 210% payout. If you only get one right, you still get 80% of your bet back.

No inflation: Because hitting both coins is a 25% chance, it stops your server's money supply from going out of control. But since players get 80% back on partial guesses, it feels super rewarding to play, and people in testing couldn't stop playing it.
